Did you know that Parikkala, located in Rajamai, is one of the most species-rich bird areas in Central Finland? It is therefore a great place for birdwatching. Parikkala has nationally renowned birdwatching areas, the most famous of which is certainly Siikalahti. So all you have to do is get your binoculars and cameras ready and go birdwatching!

Huuhanranta is also known as the "Saimaa Riviera", as it is one of the longest open sandy beaches on Lake Saimaa. In addition to a car, you can also reach the beach by canoe. At Huuhanranta you will find various campfire sites and, for example, a barbecue shelter, where you can grill sausages on beautiful summer days.

Geocaching is a fun way to get out in nature, even with the whole family! Even the youngest members of the family will be excited about this kind of treasure hunt in the heart of nature!

Along the nature trails, you can sit down and rest your feet or even fry a sausage in one of the many lean-tos found in Rajamai. There are dozens of lean-tos along the trails, so you're sure to find a good place to catch your breath and enjoy nature!

The national autumn hobby of Finns is berry picking and mushroom picking. The same goes for us in Rajamai, where you can pick berries and mushroom as much as you like. However, remember the rights of everyman so that the peace of the cottage is not broken!

Simpeleen Hahlo ry is a shooting sports club operating in Rajamai. The club organizes various introductory events where you can safely try out shooting sports. The events are good for stag parties, groups of friends and company or association tyky/tyhy days.

Feel like knocking down pins? There is a small, 2-lane bowling alley in Simpele, run by the Simpeleen Keilaajat ry. There really is no end to the fun in Rajamai!

There is heaps of snow in the borderlands in winter! Of course, that means that there are ski trails of any length! So put on your boots, put on your skis and hit the slopes!
